Welcom to the City of Enterprise
"The City of Progress. We are a thriving community founded on the principle that with the right mix of people, adversity can easily turn into diversity. We are home to a diverse mix of business, agriculture, and industry. Our community has a rich military heritage thanks to our close relationship and proximity to neighboring Fort Rucker, the Home of Army Aviation. In 2010, based on new US Census data, Enterprise was named Alabama's "Boom Town," boasting a 25.3% growth over 10 years. Our 26,574 person population allows us to provide a quality of life that integrates small town togetherness with urban vitality. Our community offers many different recreational and educational opportunities and our housing market has options for everyone.Whether you are here to stay or just passing through, we hope Enterprise's southern hospitality and on-the-move lifestyle leaves a lasting impression on you."
-Mayor Kenneth Boswell
The city of Enterprise Alabama located in Coffee county is home to the famous Boll Weevil Monument that graces the center of town. Enterprise is in the southeastern part of the state and is close to Dale county.
The famous Boll Weevile monument came to be because the destruction of the cotton crop had led to agricultural diversity, starting with peanuts and more prosperity than had ever come from cotton alone. It is quite possibly the only statue to an insect pest in the world.
Enterprise is also right outside of Fort Rucker, an Army base which is the home of Army Aviation. Fort Rucker is home to several national buildings such as the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence and the USAF 23d Flying Training Squadron for the training of Air Force helicopter pilots.
Enterprise was selected as one of America's best places to retire by WhereToRetire magazine in April 2005. Enterprise is extremely accepting of newcomers, and it's a great place to live or just visit.
Enterprise has excellent public schools, health facilities, recreational activities, churches, civic and service clubs, and cultural activities. With our year round activities and events there is no lack of things to do.
